I'd love to say I just made this whole thing up and it's not based on a true story at all. Love to, but can't.
Dog-owning comrades, you know what I'm talking about. Before getting our puppy, I thought 'walking the dog' was putting on the dog's leash and getting some fresh air. While that turned out to be true, the layer on top is a game of scrutinising the contents of every nature strip and square metre of parkland for contraband such as tissues, old chicken bones and, of course, poop.
This job is only possible after dark thanks to my phone's flashlight app.
We're much better at pre-empting the consumption of animal waste by our cute little puppy, but there are always a couple of mint-flavoured chew-sticks around.
